So, I had never really run into anyone quite as incompetent as someone in Atlas Shrugged, but today was great. I found a true James Taggart. Although I don't believe that the language used in it is quite accurate... it's more symbolic. And not symbolic in the way liberals enjoy wearing hats or carrying bags Japanese or Chinese characters on them. Rather, Rand was saying: "Don't let it get this bad, or we're screwed!" The message was of course more nuanced than that, but I now understand in a practical way what I had only appreciated intellectually before.
"We have to look at every aspect of the problem, and none of us can do it. We really want to solve this global problem but don't want to have to actually DO any work... talking should be sufficient for those like us."
=p
AHHHHHHHHHHH!
